What does your name mean?

This is also another fun subject. I have found numerology to discuss about meaning of individual's name through this kind of study.

You can find a lot of numerology discussion at:

I have also found this name calculator from Paul Sadowski site and it is interpreting one's name with its origin too.

Please enter your full name:
(English characters only, please!)

Note: Most authorities agree that the full
birth name as recorded on your birth certificate is the name that must be
used for all calculations involving name. Nicknames, changed names including
marriage name changes do not dilute the importance of the name given to you by
your parents.

Love and Reproduction

Why do I think this topic is part of occultism?

Well, probably besides its scientific explaination through human biological factors and cycles, sometimes this subject is also appear blended with exceptional myths and historical legends.

For example, I found this article about aphrodite (Venus) the Greek
goddess of love, beauty, fertility, procreation, sexuality, seduction, and
harmony which says that Aphrodite's seductions and temptations were a constant
source of pleasure and danger for both gods and mortals. Those who fell under
her spell were robbed of their wits and enticed into actions they would not
normally take when in full possession of their rational faculties. This
combination of pleasure and danger was crucial to the nature of Aphrodite as a
goddess. It may also be a reason why Greek and Roman conceptions of seduction
were treated in such a negative light by early Christian leaders.

For the Greeks, however, this contradictory nature of seduction and
love were simply a part of the nature of life. Aphrodite's dominion over harmony
was, in part, because the expression of sexuality was necessary for both
domestic and social harmony. Cults dedicated to Aphrodite could be found all
over Greece, and for the most part local cults honored her role in the process
of human reproduction, a vital aspect of any community. Whereas the Christians
attempted to suppress sexuality as much as possible, the ancient Greeks accepted
it for what it was and sought to integrate it into their belief system.

Well, whatever that means...

In Islam the teachings of reproduction is beautiful. Reproduction is a healthy soul exercise for marriage life. Reproduction satisfies the lust of a man with his legal wife and brings contentment, completion to their lives.

People have also related this kind of relationship with inner-self chemistry attraction.

Through writer Kanika Goswami, she gave her view in The Physics and
Chemistry of Love
, she quoted that Love, like all things bound to the
universe, is non existent without some amount of physics and chemistry attached
to it. As a scientist cynically pointed out, cupid’s arrows would never have
been effective if they had not been first dipped in one unromantically named
chemical- phenylethylamine.

She added that nor would the human body’s reaction have given us dramas like
Romeo and Juliet, if oxytocin did not have its way. Together these two form
the chemistry of love. The common symptoms of love, including sweaty palms,
shaky knees and general restlessness, are caused by a natural chemical,
Phenylethylamine (commonly dubbed the `love molecule'). Its release from the
brain can be triggered from deceptively simple actions like the meeting of
the eyes or touching of the hands. Heady emotions, racing pulses and heavy
breathing results, and all these are (unfortunately) clinically explained as
an overdose of this chemical. A very interesting thing is that chocolate is
known to have very high level of this chemical…perhaps that’s the reason why
it is considered a perfect gift for valentine. Or for your sweetheart.

Well, either we believe or not is one question. Either we understand it or not is another.

However, I believe love and reproduction is also part of human necessity. It maintains the human health cycle and live motivation in various ways.

Palmistry

Do you believe in fate?
Do you believe that your fate is written?
But do you believe that you can change your fate/ destiny?
And do you believe that fate/ destiny would not be changed until you change?

Well, some people read the palms to find the future predictions.
What do the palm have?
This kind of study is called palmistry.

Palmistry according to accesspositive is reading the overall shape and formation of the hands which is one of the first clues to the character and destiny.

  • The square hand identifies the practical person, someone forceful, purposeful, and capable of achieving success.
  • The tapering hand is likely to belong to an artist, a convivial, enthusiastic and sensitive soul.
  • The spade-like hand appears to be in motion even at rest and denotes an energetic owner with need for positive actions.
  • The pointed hand belongs to the idealist, the sometimes impractical lovers of beauty.
  • The long hand, knotty at the joints, is that of a thinker, or philosopher.

Most people have a mixed hand, displaying features of two or more classic shapes.

Besides shape, there is also flexibility to be considered. Moderate flexibility tells of a reasonable personality, while great flexibility indicates unconventionability, and great stiffness shows stubbornness.

Free Palm Reading is also provided online. This site says that:

  • to predict your success potential - see your thumbs!
  • to know your lucky nature - from the gambler's hand!
  • to know your best mate
  • to know your best career
  • to know your romance nature
  • to know your artistic nature
  • to know your leadership quality
  • etc...
Well, things are getting interesting right..? But how can you prove that from a 'standard' rule of palmistry is interpreted such as what the studies have found?

If you have a facebook account, you can try its free application on palmistry reading at this site http://apps.facebook.com/palm-reading/ . But, remember to login first!

Historically, Palmistry, also known as chiromancy, is the practice of telling fortunes from the lines, marks, and patterns on the hands, particularly the palms.

Palmistry was practiced in many ancient cultures, such as India, China and Egypt. The first book on the subject appeared in the 15th century. The term chiromancy comes from the Greek word for hand (cheir).

Palmistry was used during the middle ages to detect witches. It was believed that certain spots on the hand indicated one had made a pact with the Devil. Palmistry was condemned by the Catholic Church but in the 17th century it was taught at several German universities (Pickover, 64). Britain outlawed palmistry in the 18th century. It is popular enough in America in the 20th century to deserve its own book in the Complete Idiot's Guide series.

According to Ann Fiery (The Book of Divination), if you are right handed, your left hand indicates inherited personality traits and your right hand indicates your individuality and fulfillment of potential. The palmist claims to be able to read the various lines on your hand. These lines are given names like the life line, the head line, the heart line, the Saturne line. The life line supposedly indicates physical vitality, the head line intellectual capacity, the heart line emotional nature, etc.

So, is it true and reliable or not... is actually depends on your own believe. Don't you think so?
